Intelligent Homes - A History
There was a time when the future of the home meant the addition of indoor plumbing, electric refrigeration, the radio for entertainment and even a telephone in each house. Then telephones expanded to each room, television arrived in black and white and two cars graced each household.
Soon most homes had washing machines and dryers, color TV took entertainment to new levels and air conditioning made even the unbearable nights comfortable. Future advances saw music move from records to tapes to CDs to music videos; kitchen conveniences included dishwashers, disposals, microwaves and ice makers; and communication technology encompassed cellular networks, satellite dishes, personal computers and the Internet. |
The future of your home involves linking elements in your home to fit your needs, your desires and your comfort. The future of your home includes the integration of the technologies available yesterday, today and tomorrow.
